I've always been the crafty sort, my mom taught me to be at an early age. Especially when she made me wear those embarassing daisy kingdom dresses that she made on the sewing machine. Don't get me wrong, they were adorable, but so not me.
As time progressed she taught me a lot of things and then taught me how to do bead and bracelet work on wire. The bracelets turned out wonderful but before we'd had enough to sell at the Christmas bizarre at my high school, she ended up dying during the summer while I was at my dad's. I was 16.
However, she instilled in me a permanent love for the crafts and I've recently within the last year discovered a strong addiction and love to making chainmaille jewelry. It's become a serious passion of mine and I hope to make a little money from it, but I love more to show off the works that I've made, proud of what I was taught, a love of the handcrafted.
I hope to one day have made enough that I can rent booths at the local faires to sell my maille. It's a dream that I believe I will see happen.
